Original Project Scope
Show Mercy International currently have an orphanage for 100 children on a half acre site just south of Kampala in Uganda. They have purchased a new site in Kaliti village of 25 acres which they are calling 'Field of Dreams'. This site will help the orphans that Show Mercy serve to explore their dreams and to grow physically, spiritually and emotionally.
The children that Show Mercy serve are the victims of HIV, war and disease. Until they come to Show Mercy they have no hope for the future and no value of themselves. Show Mercy helps them one by one by one. An impossible task talked one child at a time. One like saved and then another and then another.
Show Mercy have asked EMI to help them in this work. The 'Field of dreams' needs accommodation and facilities for the new site. The bare ground needs to be surveyed, and a design produced, that can become a new home and a new school for 300 children. They will need houses for groups of 12-15 children, a common building, sports facilities and more.
They have the resources to build and they already own the site. With EMI's help they can make this a reality.
